This fall, fall for the hottest cool fall color, gray. Gray is the new black for this fall. You will be seeing gray in all the fall wardrobe pieces. Everything from scarves, to jackets, tees, dresses, leggings, and even shoes will be sporting this cool neutral. Gray is the new black, because it’s so versatile and can be just as slimming as black, especially when you wear head-to-toe grays in similar or varying shades.

What colors can you wear with gray? Here are a few good pointers from one of my favorite sites, MyShape.com: Jewel tones, berry colors and metallics really pop against gray. Pale colors like seafoam and pink look great with gray. If you think you can’t wear gray with your skintone, think again, because you can add those pops of color to bring out your radiant skin color.

Invest in vests

Invest in vests! If you don’t already own some long vests, get out there and get yourself a few in some neutral colors. The long vest came out on the runway back in 2008 and they have been really popular this summer, but are getting even hotter this fall. The long vest is so versatile and figure-flattering that I am now declaring them a wardrobe staple. My Aunt Shirley (who is one of the most fashionable women I know) wears her long vest with matching t-shirts and leggings with a coordinating piece of statement jewelry. The long vest flows nicely over every body shape and covers all your flaws. And, just like Bubba talks about all the ways you can cook shrimp in the movie, Forrest Gump, I can tell you all the ways you can wear the long vest… there’s the one I just talked about with leggings, you can wear it with a tank top and shorts, you can wear it with a long sleeve shirt and skinny jeans, you can wear it with a blouse and dress pants, you can wear it over a dress, you can belt it, you can wear it with a turtleneck and crop pants, you can layer it with a cami and another top, you can wear it with wide leg jeans or pants… get the idea? And here’s your bargain tip of the week. Ross Dress for Less has tons of them at great prices. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

There are lots of different styles of the long vest, too. There’s the drape neck, the ruffle, the embroidered back, the crocheted, there’s the sweater, the belted, the hooded, the drape sides and even I don’t know all of them, but here are a few pictures to show you how to wear them.

For tomorrow’s outfit, find your favorite way to wear your long vest. Wear a pair of white knee length leggings with a white v-neck t-shirt, and a white draped neck long vest. Add some black and white jewelry and a black pair of gladiator sandals.

Clearance bargains and slub cardigans

As promised, I bring you more great deals. Right now is a perfect time to find some fantastic bargains. Spring and summer items are at rock bottom prices. Today’s tip comes from my buddy and co-worker, Barb. She was at JC Penney and said their clearance prices are hard to beat at 50-70% off with final markdowns up to 80% off, PLUS you get an extra discount for using your JCP charge card. It’s almost like getting free clothing!

My tip is for you to get out there and hunt down the slub cardigans that are on clearance racks. They are still going strong in the fashion world, so stock up so you are in style this fall. If you aren’t sure what a slub cardigan is, don’t feel bad. Here’s a picture. I know you will recognize it.

INTERESTING TIDBIT: Do you know why they are called slub cardigans? It’s because slubbing is the twisting and knotting of varying lengths of the yarns or knits.

How much money would you spend on a dress? Maybe you have a special occasion that you would spend more than you normally would, but really, how much would you spend? Here’s an example of two very similar sheath dresses, but they are two different brands or designer names. One dress is priced at $762.00 and the other is $29.99. Can you tell which dress is the most expensive one?

Where to buy the best sports bra

I do believe that I have found the best sports bra, EVER! I love it so much, I believe it should be and could be worn as an everyday bra. It’s the barely there CustomFlex Fit Wire-Free Sports Bra. I just bought two at Kohl’s. The cost was $24.00 and it was buy one get one half off, PLUS I had a 30% off coupon. AND, they came with a mail-in card for FREE bra! As good of a deal as that was, I didn’t get them because of the price, I got them because of the comfort and support. It’s absolutely amazing. I am pretty well-endowed and the bra holds me right in place, nothing falls out the bottom, the straps are nice and wide and the back lays very smooth, no bulging. You buy these by shirt size and not cup size, which is also another great feature.

I encourage you to get to your nearest store that carries them and try one on. You may never want to take it off and for me to say that about a bra is extraordinary.
